   Mother nature must have heard my prayers, for today it was 0 degrees! Yes, I typed the correct number, 0! It was unbelievably warm and a wonderful taste of the spring that is yet to come- in a couple of months...

   I should have taken the mild weather as an opportunity to wear some ankle boots or heels, but with running around town (not literally running, but the bf and I went out for some brunch, we took the dog for a nice long walk, and I went see Le Miz with a friend), I opted for the more sensible option: flat boots. 

   Have you ever seen the movie Midnight in Paris? Watching it has me left me fascinated with French society, especially fashion! Sadly to say, I've never actually had the pleasure of visiting the country.... Lately I've been reading Coco Chanel's biography and Brigitte Bardot has been a favourite of mine since I was fifteen years old (for her movies, animal activism, fashion style, and her singing). So this ensemble is my attempt to channel the inner Brigitte Bardot in me (style-wise, not so much the sex-symbol aspect).

  I love me some plaid! I usually prefer plaid away from my face, in the form of skirts, and I find this little number has the best colours. The fact that it's wool needs mentioning as well- for without this wondrous fabric I would not be able to stand below zero temperatures in skirts and dresses! Nothing says winter like wool! And this is the debut of my wool fedora; I have quite the hat obsession! Since I donned a hat and a scarf I stuck to my rule less is more and forwent jewelry. I say, let the skirt be the center of attention.

   I apologize for the being such an absentee blogger as of late; standing out in the freezing cold while having the flu isn't appealing in the slightest! Now that I'm almost completely better I'm ready to begin a new year of blogging! I have a few resolutions in regards to my personal style this year: less is more- my new rule is to remove one accessory before leaving the house, shop vintage more often, quality vs. quantity, and lastly, to try and bring back the class- think women of the twenties and fifties! 

   It's only January and I've already become irritated with the weather, I don't want snow and cold, I want warm weather and sunny days! It seems such a long while since I've felt the sun's warm rays on my exposed skin and the soft grass beneath my bare feet. It effects fashion considerably as well, especially in the shoe category! 

  Enough of my fussing! Life must go on.... so for now I shall make due and play in the snow with my dog!
