Spring Into Summer Solstice

The past two days have been quite eventful for the bf and I; Kobe went missing Thursday afternoon! I've never had him leave my side so not only was this way out of character, I didn't really know where to look for him (direction-wise). We live in the heart of downtown so I was stressing over the fact that there are plenty of cars, not a dog's best friend! All is good though, I got a call just three hours later informing me that he was picked up and brought to the Humane Society (our dog pound). Unfortunately, Kobe had to spend the night there, and for the first time in over four years my home was dogless. It was uncomfortably silent and still.  We were happily reunited yesterday morning and all is back to normal! I would just like to express how grateful I am for organizations like the Humane Society and the kind person who picked Kobe up when he was wandering the bustling streets of downtown.
Now that I've rambled about that for a bit, on to more pressing matters: clothes! I'm excited to display another DIY project. For a while the needle and thread lay unattended in my sewing box, the box lay hidden under a pile of clothes- clothes awaiting a new life after a little re-purposing. This skirt is similar to the wool blue plaid one I had posted about last week. I loved these skirts dearly, but rarely wore them due to the length, now I can't get enough of them!

Until we meet again!

Play Fair

Finally it's beginning to feel like summer (after all, it is just two days away)! I thought spring and it's cool, wet weather was never going to end.  But summer is here and I'm going to enjoy the heck out of those two months! Yes, sadly our summer is a measly two months, but you take what you get.
A day is not complete for me unless I've expressed my love of warm weather and my dislike of our cold Canadian winters (which honestly, go on way too long). I tend to not feel as connected to nature when it's blanketed by white powdery snow! I miss the feeling of grass beneath my feet, the cool touch of water, the gentle noise the leaves make as the wind quickly moves through them. So, if anyone from a warm climate is looking to do a house-swap this coming December, The Holiday style, I'm your girl! Haha
This will probably be the last time you see me in pink. I try to wear the colour, I really do! Yet every time I feel as if I'm a wee gal and not my twenty-four year old self. Perhaps it has something to do with the not-so-mature look to my clothes, I'm not sure. But no more pink. At least, not until I actually desire to look younger, then pink and I shall be the bestest of buddies! So good bye pink and hello again to my good 'ol faves blue, red, black, green, white, and brown. (From all this talk of pink you'd think I was forced to wear the colour for a week)

Until next time!

Rosy Red

Outfit: Dress (Thrifted), Denim Jacket (Thrifted),
Scarf (Gift from friend), Bag (Garage Sale)

I have forgotten how beautiful the rain can be during the spring and summer! Rain in the winter is much dreaded, but in the warmer seasons it can be rather splendid. I'm such a child splashing in puddles (that is what wellies are for are they not?) and beads of water on the petals of a flower is such a delicate sight.

Until we meet again!
