The Apocalyptic Works of Martin Wittfooth

The Sacrifice

To quote another artist I admire, Banksy once said, "Art should
comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable." While I may
have started this new art addition to my blog with Flora Forager's
bright cheery works, it's the thought-provoking satirical art that
I am most drawn to. And who doesn't have a million thoughts
rushing through their minds after looking at these eerily beautiful
oil on canvass paintings? Canadian Martin Wittfooth with his brush
perfectly captures modern sentiments about over-population and
industrialization. With the attention to detail and the emotion that
just oozes from these paintings, Wittfooth is easily a favourite of
mine. Click here for more of his works!

Now go and listen to this song for me, please and thank you,
thank you and please :)

  3. Woah, these are truly wonderful. They definitely are disturbing, but my favorite one is with the bear and the over-turned garbage can. It's so beautiful and sad all at the same time. Something about a bouquet of flowers in the trash really pulls at me. And how great is that Banksy quote? There's something so satisfying over the role reversal.

I always love how your blog puts me into a thoughtful, artsy mood :)

  4. Wow, this is the type of art that's right up my alley! I love the style and motives! These are beautiful but, yes - apocalyptic and dystopian which makes them fascinating and sad to look at at the same time! Interesting artist, I need to google a bit now... ;) Thanks for sharing Sam!

  5. Whoaaaa, this is amazing and thought provoking art! I'm in love with his work now - thanks for introducing me to another artist! Keep these posts up, I thoroughly enjoy them :D
